For the last few
years, I have been encouraged by friends close to me to start a blog; some of
them enjoy my posts on Facebook and thought a blog would be a great outlet for
me and allow me an opportunity to reach a larger audience. Others enjoy my unique brand of humor and
felt it would be appreciated if I incorporated it into my posts. Everyone did agree on one point; I had things
to say, and people might actually look forward to my posts. Whilst I am still uncertain if that is
entirely true, I was nevertheless encouraged enough to give it a try, because I
DO have things to say, and often wonder if others do not feel the same way
about subjects and topics that I do.
This blog, like my life, and the world around us that affects me, will
be a constant evolution; it will stay relevant with the times, and hopefully
relevant with many of you. The topic of a post could end up being anything from
a serious subject that leads to introspection to more light hearted, anecdotal
ramblings, spiked with a bit of wit and humor.
My goal here, regardless the topic, is to…hopefully…give you, dear
reader, something to take away with you each time, whether it be knowledge,
insight, or simply a smile on your face and a feeling of being entertained for
a few moments…a welcome, perhaps even necessary distraction from the demands
and struggles of your daily life. One
thing I will always try and do, no matter what I write about, is to remain
respectful and objective about something, whilst remaining true to myself. Please feel free to “follow” the blog, share
it with others if you wish, and together, let’s assemble a collection of smart,
funny, kind people who enjoy interaction.
For the time being, as I get my own feet wet by testing the waters and
gaining confidence, commenting on blog posts will be reserved only to those who
subscribe and become members of the blog.
As I said, this is an evolutionary process, so although it is open to
the public, I am choosing to limit “too” much interaction in the beginning,
until initial feedback is received and any necessary tweaking is performed…after
all, the paint is still fresh, and needs to dry a bit. I am humbled by your presence and interest,
and hope to see you out here often.
With affection,
JPD
