The Night I Almost Died...
My sixth book, "Cachet," was actually the first book I wrote; I began writing it as a way to heal from a life trauma that still haunts me, today. Years ago, I sat it aside, and didn't pick it back up again until a few months ago, when I decided to finish the manuscript, which already held over three-hundred pages.
All of my books have a LOT of me in them; a reader would never know, but much of my writing comes from very real places. Of all of them, "Cachet" is the most personal, and certainly the most difficult to relive as I read through, edit, and continue the story...you see, Alex's story really IS my own story...all of this REALLY happened. To write well, you must write what you know, but the price is often sadness, tears, and reliving events you never want to think about, let alone put onto paper.
In "Cachet," Alex tells Kenton about his recent past. Through Alex, I tell my story. This is my story. I was only twenty-nine years old...
